Innerwear Donation for Flood Victims

During the devastating floods that ravaged Sri Lanka in 2017, Ebony Holdings stepped in to extend its goodwill towards the victims and the Lankan community. Understanding the underlying, unspoken need of the victims, Ebony Holdings donated over 5,000 pairs of innerwear for the victims to avoid compromises in hygiene and health as well as comfort.

While the government and state institutions were responding to the needs of the affected, the severity of the tragedy simply demanded more and private organizations as well as independent social workers and donors were involving themselves in the relief efforts.

The decentralization of the relief distribution although transpiring with the best of intentions on account of all parties, left much wanting in aspects of regulating the aid received and ensuring that all affected communities and not only the ones most easily accessible were receiving supplies.

The impact of the project has been immense both in terms of solving a devastatingly underlying problem and also in terms of rallying the support of the employees and management of Ebony Holdings at a time of national need.
